Description:

TA Post-Doctoral Researcher position is available immediately at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Vassar, Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology. The focus of our research is Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis with particular emphasis on the beta-secretase enzyme, BACE1. The postdoctoral research project will include investigations of the role of BACE1 in Alzheimer’s disease and its potential as a therapeutic target, and the normal physiological functions of the enzyme in vivo. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a field of the life sciences and/or M.D. degree. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in current molecular and cellular techniques, including recombinant DNA technologies, RNA and protein analysis, cell culture, histology, and confocal microscopy. Familiarity with genetic mouse models is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience according to NIH guidelines.
