Description:

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available for structural NMR studies of lipid-binding protein domains.
NMR INSTRUMENTATION: The Structural NMR Resource at Virginia Tech (http://www.chem.vt.edu/about/facilities.html) is equipped with a Bruker 600 MHz spectrometer with three channels, three-axis gradients, and deuterium decoupling. This resource complements the pre-existing 500, 400, and 300 MHz NMR instruments.
ENVIRONMENT & LOCATION: Virginia Tech provides an interactive, collaborative, friendly, and stimulating environment. The laboratory is located in a pleasant state-of-the-art research complex (Integrated Life Sciences Building at the Corporate Research Center, Biological Sciences Department) in Blacksburg, VA.
REQUISITES & SALARY: The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field. Previous experience in modern heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy is required. Specifically, the candidate should be able to collect, process and interpret 2D and 3D NMR data. Experience in assigning protein NMR resonances is essential. A competitive salary is offered (based on previous research experience).
