Description

Our research group is developing novel coherent biomedical imaging methods to overcome the conventional resolution limits and to pave the way from pure structural to functional tissue and cell metabolic imaging. This involves profound knowledge of theoretical and experimental optics, data and image processing, as well as experience in microscopy, fluorescence imaging, optical coherence tomography and non-linear microscopy.

The candidate will be part of an international research cooperation within the framework of an EU project called FUN-OCT. The aim of this project is to expand non-invasive optical biopsy capabilities of OCT/OCM by enhancing the resolution and combining it with functional extensions (Doppler OCT, spectroscopic OCT) as well as multiphoton microscopy.

The successful candidate has a PhD in engineering sciences, physics, biomedical engineering or equivalent with an outstanding record in his field of research. He has strong communications skills which is a pre-requisite for cooperating in a multi-disciplinary environment.
