Applications are invited for two Post Doctoral Research Scientists towork in the new high throughput sequencing facility being established atthe WTCHG. The post holders will contribute to the operation of theIllumina/Solexa and Roche/4564 next generation sequencing instrumentsfor a range of applications including de novo sequencing, targetedre-sequencing of disease genes, expression analysis, gene regulation,ChIP-seq and methylation studies. The post-holders will contribute tothe laboratory aspect of the sequencing operation, includingexperimental design and execution, developing protocols and methods fordifferent research and clinical applications, including array capture,tagging and multiplexing. They will work closely with the WTCHG Genomicsand Bioinformatics core groups and statistical geneticists to generatesequence data and collaborate with user groups from the WTCHG, theOxford Biomedical Research Centre (OxBRC) and other UniversityDepartments using the facility. The successful candidates should have aPhD in biochemistry, molecular biology or equivalent and preferably havestrong post doctoral experience in applied DNA sequencing. They shouldhave excellent technical laboratory skills and a strong interest indeveloping novel sequencing methodologies. The posts are available for 3years in the first instance and will be funded by the OxBRC.
