Postdoctoral Opportunity

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher in regulation andenergisation of nitrogen fixation in the Rhizobium-legume symbiosis,working in the department of Molecular Microbiology.

The successful candidate will join a team working in the area of plantmicrobe interactions with particular emphasis on nitrogen fixation inthe Rhizobium legume symbiosis. Further details of this project and thelaboratory can be found at http://www.rhizobium.net/position.htm

The post holder will be responsible for molecular analysis of nutrientcycling between Rhizobium and the plant.

The John Innes Centre is a world-class Institute and is looking toappoint an exceptional candidate who has, or expects to soon receive, aPhD in microbiology, plant biology, molecular biology, biochemistry orgenetics. We will be providing the job-holder with opportunities todevelop their technical and transferable skills during this assignment,by way of training programmes, coaching and mentoring.

Essential skills required are an ability to critically analysebiochemical and genetic data and experience in microbiology.

The appointment will be as a Postdoctoral Researcher and the salary willbe within the range £24,200 to £27,200 (pay award pending) dependentupon qualifications and experience.
