Motivated and enthusiastic fellows are invited to apply for a postdoctoral position addressing the role of RNA-based mechanisms in the control of the Hedgehog signaling pathway.
In recent years there has been overwhelming evidence highlighting the significance of novel classes of RNA molecules in biological processes, including micro RNAs, antisense transcripts and splice variants. Moreover, the Hedgehog signal transduction cascade is implicated not only in developmental processes but its dysregulation has been associated with an increasing spectrum of human tumors, including medulloblastoma and pancreatic cancer. Our goals center at dissecting key molecular events, relevant to Hedgehog signaling-mediated tumorigenesis, which are mediated through novel RNA-based mechanisms.

Expertise in molecular biology techniques is required. Additionally, the capacity of independent reasoning combined with the willingness to work within a group is essential. The position is for one year but with the possibility of extension.
