The Division of Molecular and Experimental Surgery is a basic and translational research unit within the Department of Surgery at the Clinical Center of the University of Erlangen. The group consists of 15–18 research scientists and PhD students in very well equipped laboratories. Research focuses on molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis in tumors, inflammation and infectious diseases. To strengthen our team we are looking for a:
Postdoc (m/f)
Research topic is the systematic analysis of patho-functions of Kaposi’sarcoma-associated human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8) genes in endothelial cells using systems biology approaches. Required technology such as reversely transfected mecroarray technology, differential-in-gel 2D chromatography (DIGE) and procedures for gene transduction into primary endothelial cells are well established. A PhD student and a techniclan will be provided to support the project.

The successful applicant must have:
• a diploma/master in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or molecular medicine
• a PhD
• at least two first author publications in international journals
• profound knowledge in cell biology and virology
Experience with high throughput analyses and data processing as well as research experience in the fields of apoptosis, herpesviruses, mechanisms of cell transformation and/or angiogenesis are highly appreciated.
The position offers the possibility for habilitation.
The position will be initially for 3 years with an extension for 2 further years. Salary will be according to TV-L E13/A13.
