Description
We have a position for a post doctoral fellow with background in experimental biophysics or optical physics, or cell biology to study the nanomechanics of cells and biomolecules at SUNY in Buffalo, NY. We develop techniques based on imaging and optical trapping to study the structural dynamics of single proteins and to investigate the nanomechanics of cells and cell membrane. Experience in one or more of the following is required: single molecule experiments, advanced optical microscopy, optical trapping, protein biochemistry, and/or surface chemistry. Responsibilities include preparation of protein and cell samples; optical instrumentation set-up and calibration; assay development and data analysis. We are looking for a highly self-motivated and hard working researcher with advanced computing skills. The position is available immediately and initially for one year with optional renewal for a second year.
