The group of Prof. Manolis Pasparakis at the Institute for Genetics ofthe University of Cologne is recruiting a postdoctoral scientist,fulltime (39,83 hours/week), TV-L E 13.
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Ph.D. or M.D.scientist with biomedical research experience. Candidates with strongbackground in one or more of the following fields: molecular and cellbiology, biochemistry, immunology, advanced light microscopy, modernmouse genetics, mouse models of inflammatory diseases and cancer areencouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will join a multi-national research teamstudying the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which intracellularsignalling pathways activated downstream of cytokine receptors andToll-like receptors control the pathogenesis of inflammatory anddegenerative diseases, cancer and aging. The group applies ‘state of theart’ mouse genetics to address these biological questions in vivo(Nature 2007, 446: 557-561; Cancer Cell 2007, 11: 119-132; Nat Cell Biol2007, 9: 461-469; Nat Immunol 2006, 7: 954-961; Nature 2002, 417: 861-866).
The positions will be initially available for 2 years with thepossibility of further extension. Starting time will be aroundspring/summer 2008.
