Description
Postdoctoral positions are available in the development biology researchprogram at the Lund Stem Cell Center. The research projects focus onpancreas development. In vivo (mouse models) and in vitro (human ES cellculture) techniques will be used to investigate the mechanismsunderlying endocrine cell expansion and differentiation. The ultimategoal of these studies is to translate such knowledge into improvedstrategies for coaxing human ES cells into transplantableinsulin-producing beta cells. The Stem Cell Center offers strongresearch profiles in basic (developmental biology, stem cell biology, and molecular biology) and translational research. The pancreasdevelopmental biology program consists of two dynamic groups with jointresearch interests in cell signaling and transcriptional regulationduring pancreas development. We are seeking highly motivated researcherswho have recently completed their doctoral programs. Experience inmolecular biology or developmental biology is required. However, potential for scientific excellence will be the primary selection criterion.
