Scientist/Post Doc.
The Virus R&D Laboratory, Department of Virology, Statens SerumInstitut (SSI), Copenhagen, Denmark, invites applicants for a 3 yearposition as a Scientist/Post Doc. researcher for participating inresearch within vaccinology and humoral immunology.
The Department of Virology performs diagnostic services, within humanviral pathogens. Being the R&D unit of the department, thelaboratory is committed to performing state-of-the-art research in humanviral disease, with emphasis on HIV.
The Virus R&D laboratory employs 18 researchers, medicals,technicians and students. In addition, the laboratory is part of theVaccine Research Centre at SSI, that includes approximately 60researchers within research and development of vaccines for TB, Malaria,Chlamydia and HIV.
The job
• Participating in our research projects on HIV Envelope-based vaccinecomponents, as part of an EU 7th frame program research network.
• Conducting vaccination experiments in guinea pigs, rabbit and mouse models.
• Supervising of graduate and/or PhD students.
• Participating in international meetings and conferences of relevancefor the projects.
Ideal qualifications
• Veterinarian, Biologist, Biochemist, MD or equivalent with a PhD,MD/PhD or equivalent.
• Documented scientific production within the described research area.
• Extensive knowledge of HIV immunology, vaccinology and HIV pathogenesis.
• Hands-on experience with animal models and license holder forlaboratory animal handling.
• A team-player who wants to work in an engaging environment withinterest in innovative research and multi-disciplinary, cross-border collaborations.
Salary and employment: According to the agreements with yourorganization and the Danish Ministry of Finance.
