In the group of the newly established Chair for Bioanalytics located onthe Weihenstephan Campus north of Munich, Germany, there is an immediateopening for a full time, post-doctoral Scientist Chemical Proteomicswith a strong background in synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry.
Position: The successful candidate will be a key member of a growinginterdisciplinary research team focused on the development ofproteome-wide activity and affinity profiling approaches for smallmolecules and natural products as well as their application to chemicalbiology, biomarker discovery and signaling pathway analysis. The initialterm will be 3 years but may be extended. There will also be thepossibility to obtain ‘habilitation’ within the German academic careerdevelopment system.
Requirements: PhD in Chemistry with a focus on synthetic organic ormedicinal chemistry ideally for kinase inhibitors. Broad practicalsynthetic and analytical experience is essential and additionaldesirable skills include a good understanding of biochemistry and informatics.
We are looking for motivated and broadly interested individuals withsignificant future potential. Flexibility and the ability to work in amultidisciplinary environment on multiple scientific and infrastructureprojects focused on innovative proteomic concepts are essential.Communication and presentation skills are also important. We offer anopen and stimulating scientific environment, a range of excitingprojects, modern laboratories and state of the art research equipment.
