Post Doctoral Research Fellowships:
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Division of Hematology and Oncology,Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California
Project: The highly motivated applicant is expected to work on drugresistance in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) using a xenograft modeland on identification and characterization of leukemic stem cells in ALL.
Summary of Essential Job Duties: Performs a variety of experimentalprotocols and procedures to support the objectives of one or morelaboratory research projects in a specific area of research. Has astrong background primarily in immunology and, mouse work,but alsomolecular biology. Tasks include: Flow cytometry, cell culture, in vitroproliferation assays, confocal microscopy. Protein preparation/Westernblot analysis, RNA preparation/real time RT-PCR; cell culture; basicmolecular biology-restriction enzyme digests, subcloning, PCR. Researchwill include in vivo work in mice (i.v. and i.p. injection, implantationof minipumps), also human and/or mouse stem cell research.
Commitment: Full-time, 2 years.
Education/Experience:
Ph.D or MD/Ph.D (preferably in biological sciences). Motivatedindividuals willing to learn new techniques.
