Institution
Curie Institute / French ANR (http://www.curie.fr)
Position
Post doc in Cell Biophysics
Location
Paris - Quartier Latin - FRANCE
Date Posted
Jan 7th 2008
Description
Mechanical stress in T cell activation and immunological synapse formation
The goal of the project is to develop an experiment enabling to link the
application of controlled forces on the synaptic interface withcharacteristic cell responses monitored using fluorescent probes. Thismultidisciplinary project will be initiated in a model system made of aliving T cell line and magnetic micrometric colloids.
A large spectrum of techniques and skills from physics to biology areavailable in the Institute. The program will be developped within thePhysical-Chemistry lab of the Curie Institute – UMR 168, under theguidance of Dr Nelly Henry in close collaboration with Dr Claire Hivroz– immunologist of the Institute (INSERM U653 – Immunity and cancer).
The successful candidate should hold his or her main background inPhysics with a serious motivation for biology. Ideally, he or she willhold research experience in the field of magnetic instrumentation, micromechanics and/or microscope imaging and possibly some skills inCell Biology.
The post-doctoral position (2 years) is supported by a grant from theprogram “Physique et Chimie du Vivant” of the French Agence Nationale dela Recherche. Opening early 2008
