The newly established Miami Institute for HumanGenomics (MIHG) in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine isseeking PhD or MD post-doctoral fellows interested in Molecular Geneticsand/or Molecular and Cell Biology.
The interdisciplinary and highly-collaborative faculty of the MIHG aimsto discover the genetic influences on human health and apply thisknowledge to the practice of medicine through improved diagnostics,treatments, and medications. The faculty has a unique track-recordidentifying genetic risk factors for more than 60 diseases combined withcurrently available funding of more than $34 million from the NationalInstitutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense.
We are searching for post-doctoral fellows to join our cutting-edgeresearch team with projects in the following areas:
Age-related Macular Degeneration
Alzheimer disease
Autism
Cardiovascular genetics
Hereditary spastic paraplegias
Infectious diseases
Multiple sclerosis
Parkinson disease
Peripheral Neuropathies/Axonopathies
Applicants should have experience in molecular genetics and/or molecularbiology. A working knowledge in bioinformatics is useful. The ability towork in an interdisciplinary team is expected. Applicants with less thantwo years of postdoctoral experience are preferred.
