Postdoctoral Position at Cornell University – Plant-Aphid Interactions
A postdoc position to study Arabidopsis-aphid interactions is availablein the laboratory of Georg Jander at the Boyce Thompson Institute forPlant Research in Ithaca, New York. Responsibilities of the successfulcandidate will include design and implementation of experiments toinvestigate plant metabolic responses to aphid infestation, as well asaphid responses to plant metabolites. Development of additional areas ofinterest within the scope of the project is encouraged. Funding isavailable for two years, beginning in January, 2008. Candidates withbackgrounds in biochemistry, plant physiology, molecular biology, orgenetics encouraged to apply. Prior experience with HPLC and/or MSanalysis of small molecules is important for this position.
The Boyce Thompson Institute is a private non-profit researchorganization located on the campus of Cornell University, which has alarge, active plant research community. Ithaca is located in upstate NewYork and provides a pleasant university-town living environment withmany outdoor recreational opportunities.
