Post-Doctoral Fellowship for Chemist/Pharmacologist at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Laboratory of Drug Disposition and Pharmacogenetics.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic post-doctoral fellow to join our NIH-funded research program investigating the pharmacology of psychoactive drugs and natural products. The candidate must have a PhD or equivalent in the biological sciences. The position requires experience in performing analyses of plasma/tissue drug concentrations using HPLC and the candidate would be responsible for development of new assays and maintaining/troubleshooting instrumentation. Experience in basic molecular biology techniques is also highly desired. Our projects also require interaction with other investigators at our University and others so excellent communication and organizational skills are essential. The candidate will be encouraged to develop independent research projects that compliment those existing in the laboratory. The laboratory is involved in clinical studies but also uses in vitro and animal models to conduct translational research. Available resources in the laboratory include 4 HPLC systems, real-time PCR, basic molecular biology equipment, and cell culture facilities.
