Job Description:

General objective of the position:

Investigate in a new complete and automatic methodology to verify and test components and systems against the ISO -26262 standard together with senior researchers with wide experience in testing, real-time systems and chip design. VeTeSS offers the opportunity to collaborate with top hardware manufacturers such as Infineon and NXP and gain experience in the ISO -26262, which will become a key topic in the near future in European automotive industry.

Functions and Duties:

• Processor modeling in performance simulators
• Methodologies for fault injection
• Methodologies for fault analysis and verification
• Design for testing
• Hardware design for time predictable real time system

The position will be located at BSC within the CAOS department in collaboration with the specific program coordinator. The candidate will work on the different projects related with the department.

Main Responsibilities

• Research on methodologies for fault injection and analysis in the context of the VeTeSS project
• Design of hardware suitable for time predictable real time systems facilitating its verification and testing against safety standards in the context of the VeTeSS project
• Integration of fault models, fault injection and fault analysis methods in a timing simulator of a processor for real time systems
• Preparation of project deliverables in the VeTeSS project

Skill Specifications

• English as mother tongue or equivalent fluency is a must. Spanish/Catalan are recommended
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including good editorial skills
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Leadership skills and diplomacy
• Experience in fault modeling, fault injection and fault analysis for hardware recommended
• Experience in design for testing and error detection and correction hardware techniques recommended
• Experience in real-time systems recommended
• Experience in timing simulators mandatory

Profile & Experience

• PhD in computer science or similar
• Industrial experience recommended
• Capacity to interact and build strong relations with a diverse members/stakeholder.
• Willing to travel (in Europe and US)
