Job Description

Computational drug discovery postdoctoral or research scientist positions are available immediately at the Department of Experimental Therapeutics, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.

Job Responsibilities
The research projects are to discover and design specific inhibitors for targets implicated in cancers as well as to develop state-of-the-art hit identification and lead optimization techniques. Computational methods including docking, QSAR, pharmacophore modeling, ab initio molecular dynamics and binding energy determinations will be developed and employed to study the target-inhibitor interactions and ADMET properties. The work involves collaboration with experimentalists who do the testing and synthetic modifications of the designed structures.

Qualifications/Skills
Candidates should have PhD degrees in related fields. Those who have MS degrees of computer science are also needed. Practical knowledge and experience of using current CADD techniques is desirable. Applicants with excellent programming/scripting skills, proficiency with databases, and working experience of web-based application development are highly preferred.
