The Faculty of Biology of the LMU and the Helmholtz Zentrum München

(German Research Center for Environmental Health) together invite applications for a

Head of Institute and Full Professorship (W3) for Genetics of the Hematopoietic System

Both institutions are seeking an outstanding leader in the field to complement the HighTech Campus Martinsried/Grosshadern, one of Europe’s largest centers for life science research. Special consideration is given to scientists who have a strong basic research program and excellent track record related to responses of the hematopoietic system to microbiotic stresses and signals. Candidates focusing on the genetic and epigenetic basis of hematopoietic differentiation from stem to effector cells are equally encouraged. The successful candidate is expected to teach in Genetics in the Faculty of Biology. A private law contract of employment will be closed with the Helmholtz Zentrum München.

Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree, teaching skills at university level and a postdoctoral degree (Habilitation) or equivalent qualifications that may have been acquired outside the university or during a junior professorship.

Candidates for this position should not be over 52 years of age at the time of appointment. Exceptions thereto may be considered in the case of outstanding candidates.
