Description:
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Aaron Jacobs in the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Pharmacy. Research in this lab is focused on relating cellular stress (specifically: reactive electrophiles, heat shock, and hypoxia) to signal transduction, patterns of gene expression, and disease.
The UH Hilo College of Pharmacy is a young and dynamic research environment located on Hawaii’s Big Island. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences currently comprises over a dozen laboratories with research projects in neurobiology, cancer, cell signaling, pharmaceutics, and natural products research.
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related area when position starts. The successful candidate will have strong background in molecular biology and signal transduction, with some experience in analyzing high thoughput genomic data and a good publication record. Proficiency in cell culture and molecular techniques is highly desired.
