NIH-funded positions are available in the Shen laboratory to investigate the molecular mechanisms of pattern formation and cellular differentiation in mouse embryonic development and how these processes are disrupted during cancer progression. We are seeking highly-motivated applicants to pursue studies in the following areas:
1) Prostate organogenesis, regeneration, and carcinogenesis in mouse models, focusing on the roles of prostate epithelial stem cells.
2) Cell-type specification and axis patterning in mouse embryogenesis, focusing on TGF-beta signaling pathways and stem cell differentiation.
Expertise in cancer research, developmental biology, stem cell biology, and/or imaging is highly desirable.
