Identification of aberrantly expressed microRNAs in multiple myeloma
We are seeking to appoint a post-doctoral Research Assistant to work on a research project aimed at identifying microRNAs associated with multiple myeloma. The specific project involves the collection of patient samples, purification of tumour cells and cytogenetic classification of cases by FISH. Purified tumour cells will be analysed for microRNA expression by microarray analysis and the data validated by quantitative RT-PCR techniques. This will be followed by functional analysis in vitro using RNAi and molecular cloning. At least two years post-doctoral molecular biology experience with expertise in microarray analysis, FISH, lentiviral expression and qRT-PCR is required. The post is available immediately and is funded by the Leukaemia Research Fund for 16 months in the first instance.
