Description
ACADEMIC FACULTY POSITION AT THE CITY OF HOPE DIVISION OF CLINICAL CANCER GENETICS, Departments of Population Sciences and Medical Oncology & Therapeutics Research, for a clinician scientist with post-doctoral expertise and experience in human cancer genetics. Candidates should have an MD and specialty training (BCBE) in medical oncology and/or clinical genetics, and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California. Candidates with expertise in clinical research, oncology, genetics, hereditary cancer syndromes, cancer prevention, epidemiology and/or behavioral/psychosocial research are encouraged to apply. Appointment is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, and the candidate must have skills to develop independent research programs and mentor and supervise junior staff and trainees.
The successful candidate will join ongoing studies and develop independent research programs, focused on one or more of the following areas:
1• Hereditary cancer syndromes: genetics; cancer risk assessment; management;
2• Phase I and II chemoprevention trials;
3• Population Genetics;
4• Genetic Epidemiology and Carcinogenesis;
5• Clinical and Behavioral Outcomes;
6• Health Services Research;
7• Biomedical Informatics;
8• Medical Oncology and Targeted Therapeutics Research and/or Pharmacogenetics.
