Description

Job Title: QC Scientist II

GENERAL SUMMARY
Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental/water samples, finished goods, validation and stability samples by appropriate biochemical or microbiological methods as assigned by Supervisor. Perform routine QC responsibilities as needed. Apply cGMP practices during execution of all work tasks. Work independently and achieve problem resolution with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of test articles by appropriate biochemical or microbiological methods such as:
For Microbiology: LAL, bioburden, aseptic processing, microbial identification
For Biochemistry: HPLC, IEF, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, pH, TOC, BCA, wet chemistry
Demonstrate initiative to assure performance of routine QC responsibilities.
Monitor laboratory equipment for temperature and conformance to specifications.
Apply acceptable cGMP practices during execution of all work tasks.
Exhibit strong teamwork skills.
Compile and analyze data, prepare graphs and write SOPs/reports. Conduct doc reviews.
Use scientific expertise to provide assistance to coworkers for troubleshooting, laboratory investigations and problem resolution. Suggest process improvements to QC management.
Work independently with minimal supervisory guidance.
Update supervisor of progress at scheduled intervals. Seek additional guidance as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
B.S. or M.S. in a related science such as Biology, Biochemistry or Microbiology.

B.S. requires 7-10 years and M.S. requires 5-7 years of previous related QC experience.

US Pharmaceutical Industry experience a MUST; (Experience must be practical non-academic (cannot be from

hospital/research-non-profit setting)

Excellent working knowledge of cGMP regulations is required. GLP experience desirable.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Attentive to detail. Good computer skills.

Ability to work independently and achieve problem resolution with minimal supervision.
