Description
A postdoctoral position is available to study the gene regulation and molecular mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders.
Current projects focus on studying the roles of activity-dependent expression of BDNF (Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor) in depression and anxiety, using genetically modified mice. We study from gene to behavior, using molecular and biochemical, electrophysiological, and behavioral techniques. Highly motivated individuals with a strong background in any of these fields are encouraged to apply.
Selected candidate will have ample opportunities to interact with a diverse and strong neuroscience community at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Salary will be commensurate with the relevant experience. The position includes an excellent benefits package (http://www.utmem.edu/academicaffairs/postdoc/postdoc_benefits.html). Located in Memphis, a dynamic Mid-South city rich in culture, history, diversity, music and cuisine, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is one of the largest, most comprehensive academic health centers in the United States with a solid commitment to postdoctoral training.
