Description
Postdoctoral position: Development of in vitro nephrotoxicity systems for predictive toxiciology.
A Postdoctoral position is available to a successful applicant holding a PhD in a biological science such as Molecular Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Toxicology or a related field. The candidate will preferably have had previous Post Doc experience. Experience in cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques is mandatory. The candidate must be fluent in English.
The successful candidate will be working in the renal sub group of the 7th framework project Predict-IV. The aim of this project is profiling the toxicity of new drugs using a non animal-based approach integrating toxico-dynamics and biokinetics. The project runs for 5 years from May 2008 to April 2013.
The candidate will work together and supervise 1 to 2 PhD students. The work will mainly involve the development and utilisation of innovative cell culture techniques and also the use of molecular biology, live cell imaging, immuno fluorescence, proteomics, metabolomics and transcriptomics.
The successful candidate will be paid by FWF Austrian standards which depending on qualifications and experience ranges from €41,244 to €46,620 gross income per year.
