Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Cell Cycle Control
Salary range £27,874 – £34,281
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the MCRI CellCycle Control Laboratory headed by Dr Hiro Yamano, who studies how theubiquitin-mediated proteolysis controls cell cycle and genome stability. The project will focus on the molecular mechanisms of the APC/C(anaphase-promoting complex/cydosome) dependent ubiquitylation andproteolysis. We use both biochemical and genetic approaches using frogegg extracts and fission yeast (Kimata, Y. et al., Dev. Cell, 14, 446-,2008; Trickey, M. et al., Mol. Cell Biol, 28, 3905-3916, 2008). Furtherinformation on the institute and the laboratory can be found at ourwebsite http://www.mcri.ac.uk/research/cellcycle.asp
We particularly welcome applications from highly motivated researcherswith a strong background in protein purification and biochemistry. Agood publication record would be an asset. However, we will alsoconsider enthusiastic researchers with experience in one or more aspectsof molecular biology, genetics or cell biology. We offer a verycompetitive salary, which will depend upon qualifications andexperience. The Institute is located in an extremely pleasant, ruralenvironment in Oxted, Surrey, with easy access to the London area.
