Description
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department ofMolecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine at Houstonin the lab of Dr. Li Xin. The major research interests in the lab willbe prostate stem cell biology and prostate cancer.
Projects will utilize an in vivo prostate regeneration system (Xin L etal. In vivo regeneration of murine prostate from dissociated cellpopulations of postnatal epithelia and urogenital sinus mesenchyme.PNAS, 2003, vol. 100, Suppl. 1, 11896-11903) and transgenic mousemodels. Experiments will involve classical cell and molecular biologytechniques, fluorescence activated cell sorting, lentivirus preparation,small hairpin/miRNA technologies, genetic manipulation in mice.Applicants with experiences in FACS, survival surgery and chromatinimmunoprecipitation (ChIP) are highly encouraged to apply.
Interested applicants should be highly motivated, have a Ph.D. degree, astrong background in molecular biology, cell biology and mouse geneticsand publications in internationally recognized journals. Candidatesshould be fluent in spoken and written English.
