Postdoctoral Fellow (Req. 91)
Individual will study the interactions of Pattern Recognition Receptors(PRR) such as RIG-I and MDA5 with modified oligonucleotides. Thesuccessful candidate will examine the impact of administration ofvarious modified oligonucleotides on host innate immune responses. Theresearch project will focus on the relationship between oligonucleotidecomposition and host interferon responses. This position offers anopportunity for considerable creativity and innovation in a highlyenriched research environment.
The successful postdoctoral fellow will develop and apply new andexisting techniques in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, cellbiology, genomics and virology to study oligonucleotide-PRR interactionsand RNA biochemistry.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have recently obtaineda Ph.D. degree with a strong background in biochemistry, immunology,virology or cell/molecular biology. The candidate will be enthusiasticand able to work independently as well as with a team. Strong skills inprotein and RNA biochemistry as well as molecular biology are essential.Hands on experience with cell culture and molecular biology/biochemicaltechniques such as cloning, northern and western blots,immunoprecipitation, and protein purification is required. Previous workin areas of virology and/or immunology is desirable but not required.
