You will join the EPSRC Complex Materials Discovery PortfolioPartnership. Specific areas of interest are:
? synthetic and structural oxide chemistry
? characterisation of oxide ion and mixed conductors
? structure determination with powder diffraction and pair-distributionfunction techniques
? organisation of nanomaterials by biological molecules and/or surface functionalisation
? structural analysis of thin-film oxides with X-ray diffraction methods
? new complex anion-based materials for battery applications
? new oxide thermoelectrics
? energy storage (H2 and CH4) using clathrate hydrates
? atom transfer radical polymerisation routes to new nanostructures
? synthesis and assembly of nanoparticles using polymers
? multi-length scale porous materials
A PhD in chemistry, materials science or physics and an excellentpublication record and skills in the specific areas identified above areessential. The posts are available for 2 years.
