Salary in the range of £25,500 – £38,000 dependent upon qualificationsand experience
The Paterson Institute is a leading cancer centre of excellencecore-funded by Cancer Research UK and is an Institute of The Universityof Manchester.
A three year position is available in the Cell Division group, led byProfessor I M Hagan to study how fission yeast cells control entry tomitosis and how these controls are altered to accommodate changes in theenvironment. The project will employ a diverse range of techniques tostudy a key cell cycle regulator. Mass spectrometric analysis ofphosphorylation sites will be followed by genetic, biochemical andimaging approaches to address the functional significance of thesesites. The successful applicant should have a PhD in cell biology,biochemistry, genetics or molecular biology and a background inbiochemistry and/or cell biology.
