Description
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study generegulatory programs of the cardiac system using computational approaches.
The successful candidate will collaborate with wet bench scientists inelucidating gene regulatory mechanisms for several cardiac disease andaging models that are being intensively studied at the CardioVascularResearch Institute (CVRI) of UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, a dynamicscientific community. Systematic analysis of DNA microarray data andintegration with genomic information are the primary methods.
Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics,Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields. Must be familiar withmajor bioinformatics programs and databases and common statisticalmethods. Good communication skill is necessary. Knowledge ofcardiovascular biology is a strong plus, but not required.
Newark, New Jersey is in close proximity to New York City. Manyscientific and educational opportunities are available in the NY/NJmetropolitan area, as well as cultural, entertainment and sports activities.
