Description
A postdoctoral fellow position is available at the University ofPennsylvania to study the mouse spermatogonial stem cell self-renewaland differentiation using transplantation, in vitro expansion of stemcells, in vitro reprogramming, and genetic approaches. Spermatogonialstem cell is one of the only two mammalian adult stem cells for whichtransplantation has been developed. Transplantation is the most powerfulapproach to study the regulation of adult stem cell functions. Thelaboratory is currently focused on two aspects of the germlinedevelopment: spermatogonial stem cell biology and chromosome dynamicsduring meiosis (See Yang et al., Genes & Development,2008;22(5):682-691). More information about recent publications can befound at our website http://www.vet.upenn.edu/faculty/pwang.
Candidates with a recent Ph.D. or an equivalent degree should have astrong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, mammalian cellculture, or mouse genetics. Highly motivated individuals with at leastone first authored publication are encouraged to send a cover letter,CV, and names.
