Description
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the group of Dr.Victor Lamzin at the Structural Biology Unit of
the EMBL-Hamburg. Responsibilities include scientific programming andalgorithm developing for modelling of macromolecular
X-ray structures in 3-dimensional crystallographic electron density maps.
The successful applicant will work in a stimulating internationalenvironment on the ARP/wARP software project. The
research involves development and programming of software modules forautomated location and modelling of bound ligands in
crystallographic structure determination of protein-ligand structures.
The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a relevant field and has a soundscientific record. Familiarity with pattern recognition
techniques and statistics, programming experience (FORTRAN, C or C++) aswell as good communication, interpersonal and
presentation skills are essential. Experience in X-ray crystallographywill be considered as an advantage.
An initial contract of 1 years’ duration with a possibility of extensionfor up to 4 years will be offered to the
successful candidate.
Further information may be obtained from Dr. Victor Lamzin, email: victor@embl-hamburg.de
