Description
We are searching a highly motivated Postdoctoral to join the newlyformed group led by Dr. Daniela Cota, focusing on the study of energybalance regulation and obesity, within the INSERM Unit 862, at theNeuroscience Institute F. Magendie (http://www.inb.u-bordeaux2.fr) inBordeaux, France.
The group’s research is focused on the study of hypothalamic circuitsand intracellular pathways involved in the regulation of energy balanceand in the development of obesity. The project aims at furthercharacterizing how nutrients modulate hypothalamic circuits and howpathways regulating cellular metabolism might become dysregulated duringexposure to high fat diet and development of obesity. Molecular biology,rodent models and biochemistry techniques are the main researchapproaches for these studies.
Candidates should have a doctoral degree in molecular biology,neuroscience, or related field. Ability to work both independently andcooperatively within a team is essential. Experience with obesity animalmodels, rodent surgical procedure or molecular and cell biology ispreferred. The successful candidate will be funded for a period of atleast two years.
Starting date: May 2008, or later.
