Description

CHUM/Hopital Notre Dame Medicine, University of Montreal Montreal, QC, Canada

Project Description:

We are a new, bilingual research group studying Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
(ALS) using transgenic mice, rat, and primary cell culture models inconjunction with molecular and biochemical approaches and live-cellimaging. We invite applications from enthusiastic and motivatedcandidates wishing to complete PhD or Postdoctoral research inbiological sciences with a focus on the molecular mechanisms of motorneuron degeneration in ALS. We are primarily focused on mitochondria, axonal transport, and the exploration of new genes in ALS. There areseveral projects available, please email for additional details.

Qualifications:

* We are looking for a motivated postdoc and a PhD student, ideallywith a background in cell biology, biochemistry, or neuroscience, orrelated area.
* Technical expertise in tissue culture is ideal.
* Experience of working with primary cells is desired.

Candidates will be expected to successfully apply for competitive awards.

Ideally, the post-doctoral fellow should have at least one major firstauthor publication in a journal such as JBC, PNAS, JBC, MCB, etc.

Please submit your C.V. with three references, and a short descriptionof your research interests.

Only qualified applicants will be contacted.
