Description
Reproductive physiology and molecular biology
Possums – one of New Zealand’s greatest threats to the natural environment, and also responsible for spreading disease to farm stock – it is estimated there are 70 million possums consuming 21,000 tonnes of vegetation every night and acting as a vector for bovine tuberculosis into the dairy and deer industries!
We need help to control this pest, and if you have a PhD in physiology and molecular biology, you can help us with this challenge. We need a motivated and skilled post-doctoral scientist to be part of the team focussing on elucidating mechanisms involved in the regulation of follicular development in possums The position, which is for a fixed term of 3 years, is based at AgResearch’s Invermay campus, 18 km from Dunedin. http://www.cityofdunedin.com
Ideally applicants will have:
? A Ph.D., in reproductive biology/physiology and/or endocrinology
? Good knowledge of animal reproduction
? Skills in molecular biology techniques and good laboratory practice.
? Good computing, bioinformatics, organisational and data management skills.
