Two postdoctoral positions are available in the group of ChristianMachens at the Ecole normale superieure in Paris, France.
We are looking for motivated and well-qualified postdocs to work in thearea of computational neuroscience at the Ecole normale superieure (ENS)in Paris, France. Research in our group focuses on studying themechanisms that underlie information processing in the brain. We areinterested in peripheral sensory systems as well as higher-order brainsystems that are involved in working memory and decision-making. The group is part of the recently founded theoretical neuroscience teamin the Department of Cognitive Sciences at the ENS, which includes thegroups of Sophie Deneve, Boris Gutkin, and Misha Tsodyks.
Both the ENS and Paris in general provide a strong and interactiveenvironment for computational neuroscience. (See also http://www.gnt.ens.fr)
Applicants should have a PhD, an interest in understanding biologicalsystems, and strong quantitative skills, such as come about through adegree in physics, engineering, computer science, quantitative biology,and related disciplines.
