Institution
Research Institute for Molecular Pathology (http://www.imp.ac.at)
Position
Postdoc or PhD position in Biophysics/Superresolution Imaging
Location

Date Posted
January 24th 2008
Date Expires
March 31th 2008
Description
Applications are invited for a Postdoc or a PhD position at the IMP inVienna, Austria (research group of Katrin Heinze).
The interdisciplinary neuroscience project involves the development of asuperresolution fluorescence microscope for 3D-Imaging of synapses intissue with nanometer precision.
The approach requires effective teamwork and enthusiasm for emerging technologies.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong ‘computational’background holding a masters or a PhD in Physics, Computer Sciences orsimilar. Ideally the candidate has strong theoretical and practicalbackground in hardware controlling, software engineering and/or datamodeling. Profound skills in at least one programming language (C/C++ ispreferred) are mandatory. Experiences with MATLAB and/or LabVIEW aredesired, however not a prerequisite.
The IMP offers internationally competitive salaries and full access toscientific services. We strongly encourage applications from qualified women.
Contact
