Description
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study intercellularcommunications in the mammalian central nervous system with a focus onsignaling mechanisms of oligodendrocyte cell death and cerebral whitematter injury. This National Institutes of Health funded researchproject integrates a variety of cellular, molecular and microscopictechniques to investigate cell-cell interactions in tissue cultures,transgenic animals and postmortem tissues. Other research topics in thelaboratory include neuron-glia interaction, myelination and regenerativemedicine.
Highly motivated individuals with a PhD degree in neuroscience,biochemistry, cell biology or molecular biology and a sound publicationrecord are encouraged to apply. Skills in tissue cultures, fluorescencemicroscopy and animal models are preferred. Excellent trainingenvironment and state-of-the-art equipment and core-facilities will beprovided. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.The candidate needs to possess excellent written and oral communicationskills and is expected to work in a diverse and collaborative environment.
