Description
A mentored postdoctoral fellowship in Pharmacology at the Weill MedicalCollege of Cornell University in New York City is immediately availablefor an enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in ion channelstructure and function. Our group is interested in understanding themolecular pharmacology and regulation of voltage-gated sodium channelsand their roles in synaptic transmission. Experimental approaches forthis NIH-funded project include patch-clamp electrophysiology ofneuronal and recombinant sodium channels(http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/cgi/content/full/312/2/801), cell cultureand transfection, site-directed mutagenesis, structure-functions studies(http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/cgi/content/full/322/3/1076), andfluorescence imaging of synaptic vesicle exocytosis(http://molpharm.aspetjournals.org/cgi/content/full/67/5/1591).Candidates must have a PhD in physiology, biophysics, pharmacology, neuroscience, or a related field with experience in patch-clampelectrophysiology and molecular biology.
Competitive salary and university housing are available.
Contact
Interested candidates should send their CV, a statement of researchinterests and career goals, and three references tohchemmi@med.cornell.edu with ‘electrophysiology’ in the subject line.
