Description
This one-year position will join a NIJ funded research project to Dr. Phil Danielson entitled “Isolation of Highly Specific Protein Markers for the Identification of Biological Stains: Adapting Comparative Proteomics to Forensics”. Postdoctoral Position in Proteomics: The postdoctoral research associate will employ advanced protein separation technology in order to generate a protein profile of the six major body fluids that of value to the forensic community. The goal of the project is to identify subsets of proteins that are unique to individual body fluids and therefore can serve as forensic markers.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in protein biology, protein biochemistry, or related area. ABD candidates will also be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Proteomics and working knowledge of (or experience with) specialized instrumentation such as PF2D, LC/MS, MALDI-TOF, ESI, or other mass spectroscopy.
