The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR) is an internationalnot-for-profit organisation with strong laboratory and clinical researchprograms in Melbourne. The Ludwig is located at two sites, the LICRMelbourne Centre for Clinical Sciences at Austin Health in Heidelbergand the LICR Melbourne Branch in Parkville.
The position:
The Uro-oncology Laboratory at the LICR Melbourne Centre currently has aPost Doc position available.
Whilst this position has its own project focus, you will be encouragedto provide your intellectual input and utilize your scientificexpertise. Some flexibility to work on projects applicable to yourinterests and skill base is available provided such projects areconsistent with the goals and directions of the laboratory. You will beable to draw on your drive and independence to establish or access newor existing techniques and technologies applicable to the research goals.
You will also provide some support and direction to other staff andstudents in the laby whilst keeping up to date with relevant scientificliterature and having the opportunity to attend relevant scientific conferences.
The successful applicant will possess:
• a Ph.D. degree in a relevant scientific field
• preferably with some experience in the field of cancer biology,immunology or cell cancer biology
• an enthusiastic and dedicated work ethic
• exceptional organizational skills and excellent oral and writtencommunication skills
• strong interpersonal skills with the potential to supervise studentsand research assistants
This is a three year fixed term position and salary will be commensuratewith experience and qualifications. Ludwig offers a generoussuperannuation and attractive salary packaging scheme to its staff.
