The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) is an international center whose mission is to bring together leading scientists world-wide to develop and rapidly apply promising research to treat and cure diabetes. We have an opening for a postdoctoral associate position in the field of Cell-Therapy for Diabetes.
This individual will participate in cutting edge diabetes research, by developing approaches for generating autologous b-cells using cells from human adult organs. The research is multidisciplinary and involves developmental biology, cell-biology and molecular approaches directed at inducing developmental redirection of adult tissues to pancreas, by nuclear reprogramming. It also involves manipulations in rodents (cells implantations).
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in biology, molecular/developmental biology or a related field. Strong background in developmental biology, stem cells biology and pancreatic or liver cells biology is preferred. An appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
