UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Faculty nomination letter deadline: October 1, 2007 (nomination is optional)

Application deadline: November 1, 2007

The University of Minnesota invites nominations and seeks applications for the second annual Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The Fellowship is intended to attract promising scholars with potential to pursue future faculty positions at the University of Minnesota and at other top research universities. Scholars from all disciplines with research interests in one or more of the following priorities should apply: (1) scholarship that contributes to the understanding of diversity in its multiple forms; (2) strong interest in interdisciplinary research and scholarship or creative work; and (3) engagement in partnerships with communities outside of the academy. Fellows will be mentored by the University’s prominent senior faculty to establish an independent research agenda and will participate in professional development seminars to build intellectual community and prepare fellows for tenure-track academic positions. In addition to conducting research, fellows will teach at least one course per year. For the 2008-2009 academic year up to two fellowships will be awarded for one-year appointments beginning September 2008. Awards are non-renewable. Although stipend amounts will vary by discipline, fellows will receive a minimum annual stipend of $45,000. The application deadline is November 1, 2007.
