A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Charles Miller’s laboratory within the Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences of the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. The postdoctoral fellow’s research project will involve the use molecular, cellular, and in vivo model systems to elucidate toxic mechanisms of aryl hydrocarbon receptor ligands. Naturally occurring phytochemicals and aromatic hydrocarbons present in crude oil will be investigated for toxicity in these model systems. A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and a background in molecular toxicology, signal transduction, and carcinogenesis are required for this position. Strong skills in experimental design, data analysis, oral presentation, and scientific writing are also needed. Salary and benefits for this position are equivalent to those in the guidelines for NIH postdoctoral fellowships.
