Position
Postdoctoral Fellow-Neuro-Oncology Research
Date Posted
Aug 31th 2007
Description
The ongoing research projects focus on the roles of tyrosine kinase growth factor receptors and other protein kinases in regulating cellular signal transduction, which contributes to oncogenesis and tumor invasion and metastasis. Understanding the effect of activation of growth factor receptors and oncogenic protein kinases on cell-cell adhesion, cell-extracellular matrix interaction, and gene transcription regulation will be of great interest. The signaling molecules, which we will study, include but not limited to, ubiquitin E3 ligases, Jun, EGFR, AKT, FAK, caveolin, E-cadherin and beta-catenin. Cutting-edge technologies such as proteomics, DNA array, RNA interference, confocal microscopy and animal imaging will be available.
Applicants with excellent first-author publication must be highly motivated. A strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry is desired. Experience with signal transduction and animal experience would be a plus. A competitive salary with an excellent compensation and benefits package will be provided.
