Description
Postdoctoral research associate position available Sept 1, 2007 to investigate transcriptional regulation of the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway in maize. This NIH-funded research is aimed at developing rational metabolic engineering strategies to alleviate global Vitamin A deficiency. The position will entail gene isolation by transposon tagging and investigation of transcription factors and signaling involving in maize carotenogenesis. This research requires expertise(as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications) in molecular biology including experience in gene isolation and analysis, bioinformatics, identifying and characterizing transcription factors and expertise in investigating protein-protein interactions. Candidates must have a Ph.D., good inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to work independently; good verbal and written English skills are essential.
