Analysing the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Drosophila
The University of Southampton is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic and innovative institutions in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project with Professor David Shepherd to extend the use of Drosophila as an experimental model for understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases.
You will provide research support for this project and be skilled in handling Drosophila for research and microscopy. Experience in confocal laser scanning microscopy is desirable.
Educated to degree level and with a PhD in a relevant life science, you will have experience in a science laboratory environment and in experimental design. This three-year post is available immediately.
